Jomon Tea ART

The daughter of the second-generation tea merchant, she apprenticed and mastered the distinctive ‘Dual Cup Brewing’ tea art of Meishan in Chiayi. For the first time, she collaborated across domains with a rope artist from the Society of Artistic Origins (SOA), blending the profound tea art of the East with the culture of Shibari, presenting the sacredness of traditional rituals in an alternative manner. Simultaneously, she evoked a unique projection of the viewers’ fascination with the sensory experience of someone being bound. The originally serene tea ceremony, infused with the fluidity of Shibari, transformed into a dance-like physical expression, accompanied by live sound synthesis using contemporary modular synthesizers. Through mechanized sound manipulation, the performance transcended into another realm, wandering amidst a different temporal state.
